…I just want to run it off the road. What am I referring to? Take a look:
The Hummer limousine. Let me repeat that. The Hummer limousine. A super-sized Hummer. It’s a monstrosity. Enough to make you want to puke – and then try to run that thing off the road. It’s vehicles like the Hummer, with their low miles per gallon (the 2004 H2 makes a measly 9.6 MPG), that are part of the reason why we’re all paying so much for gas now. Those things gobble up gas like it’s water (if the expression is inexact, forgive me), and keep our country addicted to fossil fuels. And what does it say about the person who rents a Hummer limo? The users may use whatever peacock terms they want to describe the image of picking up guests in a Hummer limo, but to me it says, the hell with the rest of you and the environment as it burns through the fuel, sending up greenhouse gases, contributing to global warming. Yes, the it’s-all-about-me mindset.
