Hampton Roads, Virginia

From April 3-6, 2020, Elyse and I traveled down to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, where we visited many parts of the metropolitan area.  It was an unusual visit, for sure, as many businesses were closed due to new rules imposed by the government aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.  Similarly, far fewer people were out and about than would be considered typical, which made the areas that we visited feel quite empty.  Over our time in the area, we visited Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach, with varying amounts of time spent in each.  This photo set is an overview of various places visited on this adventure.  For more details about the adventure itself, see “A trip out to Hampton Roads…” in the Journal.
