They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and so here’s a photo of the broken strap on my camera bag, originally referenced here:
So there you go. As you can see, the clip that attaches it just went snappo. The top of it literally snapped off. I was just like, wow. Then the quick repair job I did right there in the Metro station was successful, as that huge flesh-colored wad in the center of the shot is the rubber band that I tied in place to hold the strap on until I can find a replacement.
And the rubber band is still holding, two days after the fact. And Wal-Mart doesn’t carry replacement straps, I found out. So it’s off to a specialty store for me. If I don’t find one locally, I’ve got a Richmond-to-DC trip planned for the 23rd, and a regular DC trip on the 26th. So hopefully I’ll find something I can use.
