Site Updates
October 26, 2004, 3:26 PM – Life and Times is now completely redesigned according to the master plan. The main page now sports a full introduction, to fill the place where the Journal used to be.
October 25, 2004, 11:58 PM – Major Areas has now been fully redesigned for 2004, with no menu or anything - just graphics. Additionally, College Life as a regular site section is now gone, having officially been replaced by College Life as a subsidiary site. The background image is actual bricks from Potomac Hall! Additionally, the A Week in England site has been retired.
October 25, 2004, 8:07 PM – Odds and Ends is now fully operational again, completely redesigned as part of the 2004 redesign project.
October 25, 2004, 12:57 PM – Took a picture from The Schumin Web Salutes America and used it on the Splash Page for a "Vote November 2" message to run through the election.
October 25, 2004, 12:21 PM – Photography section is now completely redone to match my Journal, as part of the 2004 redesign. Additionally, a few minor wording changes were made in places, in order to read better.
October 20, 2004, 10:22 PM – The final production version of the Journal is now in place. Implementing the new official design went along with reconfiguring the back-end database for it. As such, the Journal is no longer available through Life and Times nor through Archives. There are stop-gap messages on those pages directing users to the new Journal section.
October 20, 2004, 3:09 PM – Updated Splash Page with a line saying, "Please pardon our dust while we remodel to better serve you," as the annual redesign officially begins.
October 19, 2004, 12:24 AM – A very long-winded entry in my Journal (or here for old Life and Times location) about the Million Worker March that I attended. And I really had a blast. Read and see. One reason the write-up for the journal is so long-winded is because with my having taken over 150 photos, as well as eighteen movies, I'm going to do a photo set, probably for Life and Times, and I want to have as much detail as possible about the march in written form while the memory is still fresh.
October 16, 2004, 8:06 PM – Web Cam section has now officially been retired, having been removed from the top of all pages. The new test section, Journal, replaces it on the header.
October 16, 2004, 2:47 AM – Okay, I need some feedback from the crowd on this design. Before you contact me, please be reminded that this is a test page, and that some features were left off or are incomplete. Still, this should give you the gist of it. Let me know what you think...
October 13, 2004, 10:48 PM – Massive update to the already-large Washington DC Metro (WMATA) section on The Schumin Web Transit Center. Out of 84 station pages, 62 of them were updated. Contact me for a detailed list.
October 6, 2004, 11:15 PM – The Schumin Web Community is now out of maintenance mode, and is open once again for your discussions.
October 3, 2004, 11:20 PM – Reduced the number of Journal entries that display on the main page of Life and Times from twenty to fifteen. This change is to help speed up load times on that page, since I tend to get a little long-winded, and like to put pictures in there when appropriate.
October 2, 2004, 1:27 AM – Fixed a glitch with the Transit Center database that knocked out the photos for the Rhode Island Avenue and Archives-Navy Memorial pages. The photos on these pages now display correctly once again.

September 5, 2004, 3:05 AM – Minor description correction in Historic Downtown Charlottesville photo set.
September 2, 2004, 10:19 AM – Updated the splash page with a new picture for September. This one is similar to the "Shrek" picture from August, in that this one is me at age 7 at the Casino in Asbury Park, with a file photo of modern me in the corner.

July 31, 2004, 10:47 AM – Replaced the splash page image with a "Shrek" themed one. In case you're wondering, a coworker commented once that I look like Shrek, if you take off the horns and add the glasses. So we made it literal with this Shrek doll, with it wearing my glasses...
July 17, 2004, 1:06 AM – Archives updates! We now have a page in the Quote Archives for the third quarter 2003, and also pages in the Journal Archives for May, June, July, and August (we're planning ahead). This will bring a number of journal entries and quotes back into the sunlight that have either been moved off the main page, or rolled off the journal's 20-most-recent cutoff.
July 16, 2004, 9:38 PM – Changed The Schumin Web Community around a little bit. The Almond Street section has been removed entirely, as Almond Street no longer exists online. Also changed the College Life board to sit in both "The Schumin Web" and "Subsidiary Sites of The Schumin Web". Same board, both areas. July 6, 2004, 10:18 AM – The Online Store is just a little bit out of whack as I rearrange a few things. As soon as I get the Schumin Web end of the store synched up with the CafePress end of the store again, we'll be up and running. In the meantime, though, go to CafePress's version of my store.

May 19, 2004, 10:10 PM – If anyone tried to Email me in the last day or so, please re-send it. I foolishly disabled my own Email, which knocked out my Email address during that time. It's now all re-enabled, but any Email sent to me during the off-time was lost.
May 10, 2004, 10:58 PM – The section of my Transit Center site about the Washington DC Metro has gotten a bit of a facelift. Now, the menus on the various lines look more like strip maps, which help provide that WMATA look, plus also help with readability a bit.
