“Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to take a moment and do nothing.”
Mark my words… sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to do absolutely nothing at all. And it’s so hard sometimes to make time to do nothing in a day. But those times are really the times when you can just take a moment and unwind. This couple to the left seems to be doing just that. Here, they’ve set out a blanket to sit on, and are viewing the city of Roanoke from an observation deck on top of Mill Mountain. And aside from the obvious act of sitting, they’re more than likely letting their minds wander. What was going through their minds while I took this picture? I don’t know. But they’re taking a moment out of their most likely very busy lives and taking it for themselves, to simply step back, and watch the world pass by. Very peaceful. Very calming. We all should learn how to take a moment and just let go from time to time. And in this age that we live in, popularly known as the “information age”, we get stuff thrown at us all the time. Turn on the TV – loads of information. Go online – even more information. It’s really all around us. My recommendation is that everyone should take some time this week and go somewhere quiet, preferably some place with something to look at (but NOT the television!), and just take a moment and simply become an observer in this thing we call “life”. I think you’ll be glad you did.
